Kay & Emms Partners with Deaf Reach to Empower Differently-Abled Talent in the Textile Industry
Kay & Emms Pvt. Ltd., a vertically integrated textile manufacturer, has launched an inclusive hiring initiative in collaboration with Deaf Reach. This strategic partnership aims to integrate deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals into the workforce, fostering an environment of equal opportunity and specialized skill development.
Scalable Inclusion in Manufacturing
Under this inclusive recruitment and training program, Kay & Emms Pvt. Ltd. has successfully hired 32 individuals from the deaf and hard-of-hearing community. Currently, 10 experienced hires are integrating into machine operation and packing roles, while 22 others are completing an intensive induction program to build their capabilities.
The program is structured in three phases—commencing with the project kick-off and initial orientation, moving through rigorous recruitment, and concluding with a comprehensive onboarding process facilitated by the Deaf Reach experts. Kay & Emms looks forward to expanding this program and setting a new standard for inclusive employment in Pakistan’s industrial sector.
Structured Training & Capability Development
To ensure a seamless transition and sustainable career growth, Kay & Emms Pvt. Ltd. has established a dedicated Training Center. A key highlight of this initiative is the hiring of a Specialized Trainer—a semi-deaf professional who bridges the communication gap and provides hands-on technical instruction.
Currently, 22 employees are undergoing an induction program at the training center. This training focuses: Technical skills for Machine Operations, Safety & Integration working protocols, and Sign Language Workshops designed to enhance communication between deaf employees and the wider work force.
